Blue Spice basil has dense spikes of light purple flowers for an aesthetically pleasing addition to your garden, producing small to medium sized leaves with serrated edges. The plants can grow up to 18 inches tall and 12 inches wide. It’s the most fragrant basil with strong notes of vanilla, lemon, and spice. This basil is an aromatic addition to tomato, eggplant and fish dishes. The compound that gives its aroma, bisabolene, has been extracted for perfumes and cosmetics. This basil can also be harvested at multiple stages of maturity. Bloom from June to early fall frosts.

  • Sunlight/Where to Plant: This basil prefers full sun but can tolerate sporadic shade. Can be planted in USDA zones 3-10, but needs to be planted after the chance of frost has passed (late March). 

     Watering: Can be watered lightly, keep the soil moist. 

    Spacing: plant seeds at a depth of ¼”, space plants 8-12” apart. 

     Other important info: Can be potted or planted in the ground.
