Shishito is a Japanese Sweet Pepper that produces handfuls of finger-long fruits. Usually eaten when green (though also fine to eat when red), the peppers are thin-walled, making them ideal for tempura and stir fries. It has a low heat, but will get hotter with every 10-20 peppers. The name Shishito is a Japanese abbreviation for the combination of shishi or jishi (lion's head) and tōgarashi (tip of the chili pepper), as the tips look like lion's heads. It is known as kkwari-gochu or ground cherry chili in Korean.
